Lauren JenningsUniversity Relations Representative in Austin, United States Lauren's passion for learning about the world began while studying French language in high school. She pursued a degree in International Studies with a French minor at Texas State University and studied for 5 months in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France during 2005. Her travels abroad include Italy, Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, the Netherlands, Portugal, Mexico, and Puerto Rico, as well as numerous places within Spain and France. She considers her time abroad the best experience thus far, as it inspired personal growth, independence, direction, and urged her to pursue a Master's degree upon returning home. Lauren received her MLA in Global Issues from St. Edward's University in 2008, further attesting to her interest in international education. Beginning in 2007, she worked with refugees new to Austin, helping to form a local non-profit for refugee resettlement. Currently, Lauren is the Development Chair for NAFSA Region III, and plays a leading role within the Texas International Monthly group. She is a native Texan and has lived in Austin since 1994, which has provided her with a passion for local community, live music and the outdoors.
