Program Manager, Custom Programs in Austin, United States
Melissa is the Custom Program Manager for Belgium, France, and Jordan. Melissa graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a degree in International Studies and Spanish, having studied with ISA in 2007 in San José, Costa Rica. Through the immersive environment of ISA's program and an internship through ELAP at the Asamblea Legislativa, Melissa developed a strong understanding of Tico culture. Returning to Texas A&M, Melissa worked as a Peer Counselor for two years at the university's study abroad programs office helping students to plan their experiences abroad. After graduation, she moved to Paris, France where she lived for one year practicing French, spending afternoons at the Louvre, studying cuisine and fine arts, and working as an au pair. Melissa traveled extensively through Western Europe, and particularly enjoyed the coziness of Brussels. Working with ISA Paris and ISA Brussels to build custom programs allows Melissa to anticipate what will be the best memories for program participants, and she loves to collaborate on programs that she knows students will enjoy, be challenged by, and grow from.
