Learning Outcomes
Define project management, project stakeholders and the key characteristics that comprise of
Relate to management and organisational concepts typically used in the management of projects
Describe project life-cycle and its characteristics
Understand the role of project financing, mechanisms for project financing and measures of project profitability
Recognise the function of each member of the project team, appreciating the need for effective communication and team work
Describe various project delivery (or procurement) systems
Reconstruct system diagrams and organisation structure diagrams
Recognise the key concepts of estimating and how the accuracy of estimating changes over the life-cycle of the project
Create a simple plan for a project and be able to describe the steps involved to build the plan
Identify the key components of effective monitoring and control, and how these link to the preceding and succeeding phases of a project
Recognise why changes occur during a project and the causes of claims and disputes
To understand the importance of quality and review in the project management framework
