About the City

Bustling with shopping streets and hidden stone-paved alleyways, Sorrento is a quintessential southern Italian town with approximately 16,500 inhabitants. Sorrento's idyllic location overlooking the Bay of Naples provides visitors with breathtaking panoramic views of the Sorrentine peninsula, Mount Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri. One would be remiss not to take a refreshing plunge into the Bay of Naples on a daily basis.

Located at the gateway to the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento's dramatic sea cliffs, natural beauty, and local color have inspired many to sing the city's praises, including notable Italian tenors Enrico Caruso and Luciano Pavarotti.  Famous for its lemon groves and hazelnut trees, one can also find intricate inlaid wood artwork, lending to the town's rustic flair.
