Iguazú Falls (optional for semester programs only)
Situated in the northeast of Argentina, Puerto Iguazú City is 300 km away from the Capital City of the Province of Misiones, Posadas City, and is the city that borders on Brazil and Paraguay through the concourse of the Paraná and Iguazú Rivers. Being a touristic place, it provides one of the greatest spectacles of water and forest ever existing on Earth, the imposing Iguazú Falls, which in Guaraní language means "big waters?. We will explore this National Park, one of the first national parks in the country and now listed as one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Iguazu falls is visited by people from around the world because of its inexplicable beauty. We will observe the tributaries of the rivers Paraná and Iguazú waterfalls and admire balconies and panoramic views in permanent contact with nature, surrounded by jungle and animals such as monkeys, toucans, coatis, butterflies, various birds and insects. We will also visit a native Guaraní village in order to learn about Guaraní history, how they lived in the past, (hunting and gathering) and how they live today. Finally, we will go to the Hito de las Tres Fronteras, the border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.
