Courses with Locals in Multiple Disciplines - University of Belgrano

Students at an advanced level of the Spanish language will take courses with local students at the University of Belgrano. Students will have an academic orientation before making their final course selections at the University of Belgrano.

Students who have completed or tested out of a minimum of 4 semesters/6 quarters of college-level Spanish are eligible for this program by enrolling in the semester that includes the intensive month (Semester/Year 3A)

Students have the option of taking up to five classes from two general categories but must take at least one course with Argentines if they sign up for this program:

Category One: Classes with Argentine Students (Students must choose at least one course from this area)
Students are able to select classes from the regular course listings of the University of Belgrano. These courses are recommended for students who are fluent in the Spanish language because courses will be taken with Argentine students and are taught by Argentine faculty.

Category Two: Latin American Studies in Spanish (as listed under the Semester/Year 2A & 2B programs)
These courses are specifically designed for foreign students. Instruction is in Spanish and classes are taken with international students.

Students who do not wish to enroll in at least one course from Category One will be required to switch to the Latin American Studies program.

*Please be aware that some courses with Argentine students are offered only during specific semesters, and often change due to course schedule conflicts, enrollment, etc. While ISA makes every effort to maintain a current course list on the ISA website, course enrollment cannot be guaranteed until students arrive onsite. If you must take specific courses with locals for graduation, please contact your Site Specialist to check on the likelihood that they will be offered during your specific term abroad.
