Semester students will take between 216 and 228 contact hours and have the opportunity to progress through 2 consecutive levels. For this reason both the Fall and Spring programs are not designed for advanced level Spanish speakers.
Students will participate in courses offered at University of Belgrano's language department that focus on Spanish grammar, conversation, and culture. Students will be in class with other international students.
All students must take a Spanish language placement exam prior to arrival in Buenos Aires. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll.
Students who arrive in Argentina having completed less than one year of college-level Spanish will likely place into beginning level. Students who arrive in Argentina having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into the intermediate-level courses.
Gap students are also eligible for this program.
Advanced level students should consider Latin American Studies or the Courses with Locals programs.
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
