This program is designed for students at the beginning, intermediate, high intermediate and advanced levels of the Spanish language.
Students will participate in courses offered at University of Belgrano's language department that focus on Spanish grammar, conversation, and culture. Students will be in class with Americans and other international students.
All students must take an online Spanish language placement exam administered by the University of Belgrano prior to departing for Buenos Aires. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the course in which the student is eligible to enroll.
Students who have completed less than one year of college-level Spanish typically place into beginning level. Students who have completed one full year of college-level Spanish typically place into the intermediate-level courses. Students with three semesters typically place into the high intermediate level, and students who have completed 4 or more semesters typically place into the advanced level.
Gap students are also eligible for this program.

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
Summer 1 and Summer 2 are open to students at all levels of Spanish language proficiency. Summer 3 is open to students at the intermediate level or higher.
Students participating on back-to-back Intensive Spanish Language programs will have the opportunity to progress through two consecutive levels of Spanish language. Therefore, advanced level students are not eligible for back-to-back summer programs. Summer 1 Intensive Spanish Language + Summer 4 Latin American Studies is available for students at the advanced level who wish to participate on consecutive summer programs.
Additional Program Options
Mission WorkISA's Veritas Christian Study Abroad division adds ministry service opportunities and spiritual support to existing ISA programs. Students interested in participating in missions while studying abroad must apply to a Veritas program (Visit veritasabroad.com to view program options). Veritas programs promote spiritual growth through the on-site support of a Mission Mentor as well as engaging academic and mission experiences.
