ISA Newcastle semester and year programs allow students to select courses from a wide variety of fields of study allowing their study abroad experience to fit their individual academic needs. Courses are conducted through the University of Newcastle with are taught in English by University of Newcastle professors. ISA students will enroll in courses alongside Australian and international students.
Semester + Semester Programs Available: Students may participate in the Spring + Fall OR the Fall + Spring sessions of this program by selecting their two semesters of interest when submitting the initial ISA online application. Note: About pricing...
Housing at the University of Newcastle ranges from $4,700 - $5,800 (subject to change.) Where available, a full meal plan is included in housing costs. A $500-$800 refundable security deposit will be charged to students living in ISA arranged housing. ISA may retain some, or all, of this deposit in case of damage to property, or if utility usage exceeds the allotted monthly amount.
Students who select the Semester + Semester option for this program will receive a $2,500 discount. ISA support services, housing and insurance are not included during the interim period between sessions but may be added for an additional charge.
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
There is no language prerequisite for this program.
Students must have at least sophomore standing (second year) at their home university at the time of participation.
Students are required to submit an official transcript along with the application.
For GAP and First Year Students, the following additional materials are required: a high school diploma, a minimum ACT score of 19 or a minimum SAT score of 750. Students must be 18 on or before the program start date.
