La Serena boasts eleven beaches and is a popular vacation spot for Chileans. During this weekend excursion students will also enjoy the La Recova market, filled with Peruvian and Chilean crafts, colonial churches, and the Archeological Museum containing re-Incan artifacts. A side trip will take students to the Humboldt Penguin National Park for a glimpse at Chile's diverse wildlife.
