Spanish Language & Latin American Studies
Pontificia Universidad Católica de ValparaísoSummer 2 2017 + Service-Learning (Jun 13, 2017 to Aug 19, 2017)
Catalog Code: IVPEU1217
The Spanish Language & Latin American Studies summer program is designed for students looking for an intensive and immersive language program. This program is open to students at the intermediate and advanced levels of Spanish proficiency. All courses are taught at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso by local university professors. ISA participants take classes alongside other international students.
During the last four weeks of the program, students will work 15-35 hours per week at a host organization, increasing language proficiency and gaining valuable international experience. Placements are arranged prior to arrival in the host country and language requirements may vary. Visit the ISA Service-Learning website for more information on placement opportunities.
Service-Learning placements are coordinated by ISA and have no affiliation with the university. Students will develop a Portfolio throughout the program, documenting their projects, hours, and program activities.
Students can earn 1-6 credits based on the number of contact hours accrued at the host organization and successful completion of the Portfolio. Visit the Academic Credit page of the ISA Service-Learning website for more information.
