Founded in 1966, the Universidad del Norte is one of the top universities in Colombia and the Caribbean region. The university has received accreditation from national and international bodies, including ABET. Institutional internationalization is a priority for UNINORTE and they collaborate with numerous U.S. and other international universities to achieve this goal. In the past few years the university has hosted numerous visiting students, professors and conferences from across the globe. The university prides itself on it's approach to education and strives to maintain a modern, accessible campus, and also increase opportunities for it's students.

The university is composed of eight schools, including, Engineering, Administrative Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Legal Sciences, General Science. ISA students at the UNINORTE have access to courses offered in all of these academic areas.
