The summer program at the Inter-American University is designed for students at the intermediate and advanced language levels. It is ideal for students who need to complete a full 90 hours of Spanish language instruction during the 5-week session in order to earn six credit hours or nine quarter units of Spanish. Students may conveniently select from two sets of summer dates. The classroom environment is made up of ISA and international students.

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

Students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of two semesters (three quarters) of college-level Spanish.

Course Disclaimer

Please note that there are no beginning level Spanish courses offered in this program.

Students are placed according to the number of semesters/quarters of college level Spanish they have taken. Students needing to take a course at a level higher than the number of semesters/quarters they have had, must take a proficiency exam and pass to take the desired course. In addition, students will sign a release acknowledging their intent to take a course not suggested for their particular language level.
