Canterbury & Dover Castle

Location: England

The city of Canterbury has two castles, six museums and attractions that echo the Middle Ages. Students can join pilgrims on their journey from London to Canterbury as written in Chaucer's, "The Canterbury Tales." The Cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey built in 597AD and the oldest parish church in England still in use, St Martin's Church, form the trio of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Canterbury.

Later, set high above the famous white cliffs, Dover Castle boasts a colorful and fascinating history. Re-live the turbulent war years and discover the labyrinth of Secret Wartime Tunnels built deep within the cliffs. Walk through the rooms where Sir Admiral Ramsay planned the "miracle of Dunkirk" and tour the underground hospital as you follow the story of a wounded wartime pilot.
