ISA Housing provides the opportunity for students to experience aspects of the British student lifestyle that are inaccessible to the average visitor of England. All dorms are either within a quick walking distance to the university, or are conveniently located near public transit routes relative to the university. Travel times to the university vary but generally range between 15 and 30 minutes. The experience of living in another culture will be both educational and rewarding so long as you stay open-minded and reasonable at all times. There are differences in culture and lifestyle between life in England and the U.S. Remember: the key to a positive experience is flexibility. With this in mind, you can become a true Brit!
Dorms:
ISA students live in residence halls with British and other international students. The arranged dorm-style accommodation is on or very near the campus and includes a cafeteria-style meal plan. Students will get approximately fourteen meals per week offered in the centrally located dining areas of each hall.
Most rooms are single bedrooms with shared bathrooms and each hall has facilities such as a library, common room, and laundry room. The housing area might also offer facilities such as music and game rooms, tennis courts, and weight room. Shops, a bank, a post office, and a bus route are all within walking distance as well.
A $425 refundable housing deposit will be charged to students living in the ISA Reading Dorms.
Independent Housing:
Students may opt to secure housing independently. Students who select this option receive a discount equal to the housing portion of the program price.
