This is a French language program that is offered to international students at the high intermediate through superior levels. Courses, taught in French, cover the fundamental aspects of French and build on practical knowledge of the language for use in everyday situations. In addition to language and phonetics exercises, large, lecture-style courses in literature, art, and history are offered.

Eligibility

Minimum GPA

Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.

Minimum Admissions Prerequisites

For high intermediate through superior-level French speakers only. Students must have a 2.5 GPA and be at least 18 years of age.

*All students must take a placement exam upon arrival in Paris. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll.

Please use the following only as a guideline to determine what each student's language level may be. Each semester/quarter is of COLLEGE-LEVEL French or the equivalent of:

5-6 Semesters/7-9 Quarters = High Intermediate
7-8 Semesters/10-12 Quarters = Low-High Advanced
Fluent/Native Speaker = Superior

Please note that a student's French language level in France may be lower than his/her level in the U.S.
