French Language & Culture - The Sorbonne -The Sorbonne - Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne
This immersive French language program is perfect for students who are seeking to have robust linguistic experience, as all courses are taught in French. Students of all language levels are welcome to participate in this program which is offered at the renouned Sorbonne - Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne (CCFS).
Students will take a spoken and written placement test once in Paris to ensure that they are enrolled in the level of courses most appropriate to maximize their learning. The academic structure is comprised primarily of a French language and phonetics course, which covers the fundamental aspects of French and builds on practical knowledge of the language for use in everyday situations. French language courses are complimented by lecture courses (conférences) covering various elements of French culture and civilization. These courses can range in topic from literature, to history, to facets of French society today.
All courses are taught by CCFS faculty at the Sorbonne's Raspail campus, and students will be in class with international students from all over the world.
Gap students, 18 years old and older, are also eligible for this program.
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
There is no language prerequisite for this program.
To participate in this program, students must be 18 years of age or older.
Courses and course hours of instruction are subject to change.
Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
