Academic Programs in Paris

Students may choose from the following Academic Program options:

Academic Year

During the Academic Year program, students may take beginning, intermediate, and advanced French language and culture classes at the Institut Catholique de Paris (Catho), the Sorbonne - Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne (CCFS), or the American Business School of Paris (ABSP).

The Catho and the Sorbonne (CCFS) offer Culture and Civilization courses such as art, theater, literature, communications, history, and culture taught in French. Students learn in an international setting with students from all over the world. Courses at the Catho are taught in the Institut de Langue et de Culture Françaises (ILCF). Courses are available from beginning to advanced levels of French language.

The American Business School of Paris offers a unique opportunity to learn global business, management, marketing, and humanities courses in a classroom comprised of students from all over the world. All courses, with the exception of French language courses, are taught in English by a diverse staff of international professors and guest lecturers.

Semester / Trimester

During the Semester/trimester program, students may take beginning, intermediate, and advanced French language and culture classes at the Institut Catholique de Paris (Catho), the Sorbonne - Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne (CCFS), or the American Business School of Paris (ABSP).

Students at the American Business School of Paris can select from a wide variety of courses taught in English with students from all over the world. Course subjects include global business, management, economics, marketing and humanities and are taught by a diverse staff of international professors and guest lecturers.

Summer

During the summer, three types of academic programs are available in Paris. The first, the Arts & French Language program, is a unique five-week opportunity to discover Paris through the arts and language. This program is a great match for the student who seeks a study abroad experience in France with arts courses taught in English. French language studies, taught in French, are also available. Art classes, designed specifically for the program, are taken with other students participating in the program. French classes are taken with other international students at the Institut Catholique de Paris.

The second summer offering in Paris is the Intensive French Language program. This program is available to students of all language levels, and is held at the Institut Catholique de Paris.

The American Business School summer session offers international business and humanities courses taught in English. Participants take courses in an international classroom with students from France and all over the world.

J-Term

The Business and Economics J-Term (January Term) program is designed for students wanting to complete a Business, Economics or Math course in an intensive 4-week format. This program can be taken as a precursor to a semester program or as an individual program.

This program is well-suited for those students needing to complete a pre-requisite in order to register for a more advanced course during the following session.

The J-Term session is open to students who have a 2.75 GPA. All courses are taught by American Business School Paris faculty and are taken with international and local students.

Please note that the J-Term program price does not include airport pick-up, drop-off, or excursions.

Intensive Month

The intensive month session is offered at the beginning, intermediate, advanced, and superior language levels. Taken at the Institut Catholique de Paris, the intensive French language class concentrates on grammatical structures and communication skills. Participants are in the classroom with American and other international students. The intensive month may be completed as an individual program, or as a precursor to the Year and Semester programs.

Master's Degrees

ISA Master's Degree programs allow students to complete a fully-accredited Master's Degree in only one year in a wide variety of fields and disciplines. ISA Paris Master's Degree programs are available through the IESEG with courses taught in English by university professors. ISA students will enroll in courses along side French and international students.
