Prior to their departure and on-site orientation, students will receive a lengthy and detailed pre-departure orientation handbook which serves as a primer for their study abroad experience in India. This handbook is designed to be used in conjunction with the Online Orientation in the Student Portal. Although the on-site orientation will cover the nitty-gritty of life in India, the handbook allows students to read up on pertinent information before their arrival in Hyderabad. The handbook covers academics, culture, gender relations, useful phrases, food, housing, the university, ISA facilities, money matters, visas and numerous other details that students also learn about during their on-site orientation. Of course, students are always welcome to contact the India Site Specialist
with any questions.
Students arriving within the specified arrival period for their program will be met at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. The orientation will commence with the Golden Triangle excursion
. In addition to seeing sites such as the Taj Majal and many others with the ISA Hyderabad staff, students will receive a comprehensive on-site orientation during the first days of the program, covering topics such as academics, safety, housing, food and transportation. Upon arrival in Hyderabad, the staff will familiarize participants with the academics and important points of interest at the university, as well as with the neighborhoods around the campus. During the first few days in Hyderabad, the staff will thoroughly assist students with their adjustment to living in the city, including extensive information about where to go and how to get around.
