Students may choose between the following Program Terms:

Humanities & Social Sciences - Trinity College Dublin

The Humanities & Social Sciences program is offered through Trinity College Dublin (TCD). This program offers courses from one of TCD's faculties: the Faculty Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. Popular subject areas include English, History, and Irish Studies. Of particular note is TCD's tutoring program which pairs each international student up with a local Irish student.

If students take one or more Nursing & Natural Sciences courses, they will automatically be placed into the Nursing & Natural Sciences program.

Fall 1B or Year 1B will take a 3-week long course called Understanding Ireland worth 5 ECTS credits prior to the Fall semester.

Courses are taught by TCD faculty and ISA students enroll directly with local and international students. All courses are taught in English.

Business, Social Sciences & Humanities - University College Dublin

The Business, Social Sciences & Humanities program is offered through University College Dublin (UCD). This program offers courses from three of UCD's colleges: the College of Arts & Celtic Studies; the College of Business & Law; the College of Human Sciences. Students must choose one main college (Arts & Celtic Studies, Business & Law, or Human Sciences) in which to take four courses, but may take one or two electives from other colleges. Popular subject areas include Business, English, and History. Of particular note is UCD's Service Learning course.

While students in this program take a majority of their courses from the Business, Social Sciences & Humanities program, they may also select 1 or 2 courses from the Agriculture, Engineering & Science program at no additional charge.

Courses are taught by UCD faculty and ISA students enroll directly with local and international students. All courses are taught in English.

Agriculture, Engineering & Science - University College Dublin

The Agriculture, Engineering & Science program is offered through University College Dublin (UCD). This program offers courses from three of UCD?s colleges: the College of Agriculture, Food Science & Veterinary Medicine; the College of Engineering & Architecture; the College of Health Sciences; the College of Science. Students must choose one main college (Agriculture, Food Science & Veterinary Medicine, Engineering & Architecture, Health Sciences, Science) in which to take four courses, but may take one or two electives from other colleges. Popular subject areas include Agriculture and Engineering. Of particular note is UCD's Introduction to Scientific Research course.

While students in this program take a majority of their courses from the Agriculture, Engineering & Science program, they may also select 1 or 2 courses from the Business, Social Sciences & Humanities program at no additional charge.

Courses are taught by UCD faculty and ISA students enroll directly with local and international students. All courses are taught in English.

ISA students studying in the Agriculture, Engineering & Science program at UCD can apply for an unpaid summer internship in Engineering following their academic program. This internship is offered through University College Dublin and students participating in the program will do so through UCD, not ISA. Please contact the Ireland Site Specialist for more information about this internship opportunity.

Arts, Music, Social & Natural Sciences - Maynooth University

The Arts, Music, Social & Natural Sciences program is offered through Maynooth University (MU). This program offers students a wide variety of courses from three faculties: the Faculty of Arts, Celtic Studies & Philosophy; the Faculty of Science and Engineering; the Faculty of Social Sciences. Popular subject areas include Theology, English, History, and Irish Studies. Of particular note are Maynooth's certificate courses: Certificate in Irish Cultural Heritage, Certificate in Irish Studies, or the Certificate in Peace & Conflict Studies.

Courses are taught by MU faculty and ISA students enroll directly with local and international students. All courses are taught in English.
