ISA Office

The ISA Rome office is centrally located just a block away from the American University of Rome. Most of the major bus routes and tram lines pass through this part of town, making transportation between the office and the rest of Eternal City very convenient.

During normal office hours, ISA students will gather for regular meetings with the Resident Staff, have the opportunity to receive tutoring for language classes, find out about upcoming excursions, learn about activities and cultural events, and utilize academic and travel resources. The office is also equipped with wireless internet access, a kitchen facility, and a meeting room and lounge with television, DVD, and CD player.

The American University of Rome

Located in Monteverde, the AUR is the oldest degree-granting American university in Rome, and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It is a coeducational university which offers undergraduate degrees in six disciplines. Study abroad students interact with peers from North American and all over the world. The university's urban campus is composed of five buildings with its own garden of Roman pines offering a spectacular view of Rome and the surrounding hills.

Housing Neighborhoods

All housing is located in the desirable residential neighborhoods of Trastevere, Monteverde, and Gianicolense. These three neighborhoods are located west of the Tiber River and South of the Vatican City. This area is well-known for having retained its narrow, winding streets when the rest of Rome began its nineteenth-century expansion. Compared to other parts of Rome, these areas have less noise and traffic, more green areas, better access to public transport, and are conveniently located just a short distance from the historic center of Rome.

Apartments are fully furnished and include a fully equipped kitchen, a computer with internet access, a land-line telephone, and a washing machine. A $750 refundable housing deposit will be charged to students living in Rome apartments.
