Italian Culture & Liberal Arts -The American University of Rome
The J-Term (January Term) program is designed for students wanting to complete a Culture or Liberal Arts course in an intensive format. This program can be taken as a precursor to a semester program or as an individual program. This program is ideal for students looking for a iconic Italian experience short term. Each course offers a field trip as part of the curriculum.
Courses are taught in English except for Italian language courses. Courses will be taught by local and international faculty. Classmates are international students, the majority of whom are North American.
Gap students are also eligible for this program.
*Please note that the J-Term program price does not include airport pick-up, drop-off, or excursions.
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
There is no language prerequisite for this program.
Students must be at least 18 years old by the program start date.
Students must submit a course registration agreement. Additional details will be provided after gaining access to the ISA Student Portal.
Students with a cumulative GPA below 2.5 may be considered for acceptance. They must also submit one letter of recommendation and a statement of purpose.
Courses and course hours of instruction are subject to change.
Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Some courses may require additional fees.
Availability of courses is based on enrollment numbers. All students should seek pre-approval for alternate courses in the event of last minute class cancellations
