Overview

This course explores all aspects of funerary archeology from the symbolism of graves and grave goods to the new technological and forensic
advances in burial archeology that allow archaeologists to extract scientific data from ancient remains. The course will focus in particular on the burials of the Etruscans and the Romans and will include field trips to visit archaeological sites, museums and archaeological laboratories. This
course satisfies the requirements for the Roma Caput Mundi section of the General Education program.
