Housing Information

ISA Housing provides the opportunity for students to experience aspects of Japanese lifestyle that are inaccessible to the average visitor of Japan.

The experience of living in another culture will be both educational and rewarding, so long as you stay open-minded and reasonable at all times. There are differences in culture and lifestyle between life in Japan and the U.S. Remember: the key to a positive experience is flexibility. With this in mind, you can have an amazing stay in Beppu!

Please note: all housing is subject to availability.

ISA students will live in either on-campus dormitories with Japanese and other international students, or off-campus dormitories located in downtown Beppu. Student housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students living in an on-campus dorm will have a single or shared room. Shared kitchen, laundry and bathrooms are available on each floor. Japanese-style rooms and Japanese-style bathrooms are located on the ground floor. Linens are provided, and each room is equipped with DSL (Ethernet cord is not provided). Wireless internet access is available in certain parts of the building.

Students living in an off-campus dorm will have a single room. The off-campus dorm is just a 30-minute bus ride from campus, and gives students the experience of living in downtown Beppu, close to shopping centers, the train station, and the famous hot springs.
