Region and Population

With a population of about 4 million, Guadalajara is situated on a mile-high plateau in the state of Jalisco.  Although it is a bustling metropolis , Guadalajara prides itself on being one of the most traditional cities in Mexico.  Guadalajara is located in the Central Standard Time Zone.

Climate

Its altitude provides Guadalajara with a spring-like climate year round, with high temperatures in the 70's during the winter and spring seasons. In the summer months, the temperature is typically in the mid to upper 80's, sometimes reaching the 90's. June, July and August bring substantial afternoon showers.
