SUMMER & INTENSIVE MONTH PROGRAMS
Summer and Intensive Month students who participate on a program in Mexico will NOT be required to obtain a student visa. Instead, these students MUST obtain a tourist card (tarjeta de turista) in order to enter Mexico. Tourist cards are issued by most airlines servicing Mexico. Airline personnel will distribute the necessary tourist documents while en route to Mexico. If you are traveling to Mexico by bus, train or car, you will need to obtain your tourist card from the Mexican Consulate nearest you before you leave for Mexico. Upon arrival at the airport in Mexico, you will need to present proof of U.S. citizenship (U.S. passport) along with the tourist card form to customs and immigration officials. The tourist card must be returned to immigration officials upon leaving Mexico. DO NOT LOSE IT or you will have to pay a fine upon leaving the country.

SEMESTER & YEAR PROGRAMS
All students participating in a Semester or Year program, MUST OBTAIN a student visa. You can apply for a student visa at the Mexican consulate nearest you. Mexican consulates in the U.S. vary in terms of requirements and fees, so be sure to check with your local consulate for the most recent information.

**Although ISA strongly recommends that all students obtain their visas in the U.S., it is possible to apply for a student visa in Mexico. Only those students who encounter difficulties in obtaining their visas in the U.S. should plan to apply for one in Mexico. The on-site staff will assist students in obtaining their student visas, should they not be able to do so prior to their departure.**
