Massey University's Wellington campus, known as Massey's Creative Campus, has established itself as a center of excellence for study and research with a focus on four broad areas: Communication and Business (including journalism, media studies, and entrepreneurship); Engineering and Technology (including multi-media systems, software and electronics); Health and Well-being (including nursing, exercise science, environmental health, and public health); and Creative Arts (including design, fine arts and music). This part of the university came into existence in 1999 through the acquisition by Massey of the Wellington Polytechnic. The Wellington campus is home to the prestigious College of Creative Arts, New Zealand's most distinguished School of Design, and several research centers, including the Centre for Public Health Research, the Sleep/Wake Research Centre, the Maori Health Research Centre, the New Zealand Centre for Small and Medium Enterprise Research, the Centre for Disaster Research, and the National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence. The New Zealand School of Music, a joint venture between Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington, is the nation's preeminent provider of music education, with programs in classical performance, composition and sonic arts, jazz, music studies, and music therapy. Massey University is characterized by the practical and applied nature of many of its teaching programs and by its expertise in a wide range of fields. Massey Wellington is both AACSB and AMBA accredited. Massey is recognized by the Ministry of Education, New Zealand.

The ISA Wellington office is located on the Massey campus.

Victoria University of Wellington
Victoria University of Wellington, founded in 1897, has a strong research focus, particularly in connection with various cultural and research centers in Wellington, including the Crown Research Institute, the Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Among its wide range of courses, Victoria University boasts a world-renowned performing arts department and an internationally acclaimed business school. Victoria University prides itself on being world class in the areas of Earthquake and Antarctic Research. The University's strengths also run to Film and Media Studies, Political Science and International Relations, Architecture and Design, and Earth Sciences. The university resides on four campuses in central Wellington. The Kelburn Campus, near the harbor, is home to the schools of science, engineering, humanities, and social sciences. The Pipitea campus, located in the city's central business disctrict, houses the schools of law, government, commerce, and professional development. The Te Aro campus, also near the central business discrict, was created specifically for the School of Architecture and Design. The nearby Karori Campus is home to the Faculty of Education as well as the foundation studies program.
Victoria's arts and humanities progarms rank 60th in the world, while the social sciences and management programs rank 67th, according to QS World University rankings. The university is ranked in the top 250 in the world.
