Nazca Lines / Ica and Paracas

Location: Peru

The famous Nazca Lines are geometric clearings in the Peruvian desert, made by the Nazca people, whose civilization flourished between 200 B.C. and 600 A.D. Students will board a plane to fly over the Nazca Lines for an aerial view of the fascinating shapes.

In the nearby city of Ica, students can sandboard or boat across the famous lagoon, "Huacachina", located in the middle of the desert, or take a dune buggy tour of the area. Students will also visit the Ballestas Islands, which are inhabited by distinctive wildlife such as exotic birds and sea lions.
