Addo Elephant National Park

This park originated as a sanctuary for the 11 remaining elephants from the surrounding region. Today, the infamous Addo Elephant National has over 550 elephants. Students spend the day touring the grounds, identifying many different types of wildlife including lions, zebras and exotic birds. Read More

Amakhala Game Reserve

Amakhala Game Reserve is located in a secluded valley along the Eastern Cape. Students have the opportunity to go on safari and hope to spot the Big 5: The Elephant, Rhinoceros, Leopard, Lion, and the Buffalo. At night, students stay in tented campsites. (optional) Read More

Frontier Excursion

Exclusively for Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University students, travel to the Winterberg Mountains in the Eastern Cape. While there, students engage in a range of activities from sheep herding to riding a 4x4 up the mountains. Students also go on a night-game safari. Read More
