Academic Year

Spanish Language, Liberal Arts & Business -Universitat Pompeu Fabra

This program accommodates students of various levels of Spanish proficiency who would like to take Spanish language in addition to a variety of elective courses. Please note that students who place into the superior language level do not need to take a language class and may select up to five courses, but no less than 4, within the superior language level. All language courses are taken at the Pompeu Fabra University with international and local students. The culture courses may have some Spanish students and international students. Students will also be allowed to take courses with Spaniards on a limited basis, including courses taught in English. Students must have completed at least one semester of college-level Spanish prior to departure in order to attend.

Please note that students enrolled in UPF programs will not be required to enroll in Spanish language as one of their courses. However, it is strongly encouraged that students enroll in language in order to fully immerse themselves in the language and culture of the area. Any student wishing to the apply to the program will still need to meet the "one-semester of college-level Spanish or the equivalent" requirement for entry, as that requirement will not change.
