A prestigious Spanish university, the Universidad de Deusto was founded in Bilbao, Spain in 1886 by the Jesuits. Later it acquired the Institute of University and Technical Studies of Guipuzcoa in San Sebastian an hour east along the Basque coast. Today the Bilbao University of Deusto has a strong commitment to international studies attracting students from around Europe and the rest of the world.
