This program accommodates students at all levels of Spanish proficiency. All levels will take Spanish language courses focusing on the skills of writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Students will be in class with international students. Students may enroll in overlapping summer sessions.

Minimum GPA
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
Minimum Admissions Prerequisites
Students must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Granada. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. This program is well-suited to students at all levels of Spanish language proficiency.
Students who have completed the following number of semesters/quarters of college-level Spanish or the equivalent typically place into the following language levels:
0-1 semesters (0-2 quarters) = Beginning
1-2 semesters (2-3 quarters) = High Beginning
2-3 semesters (3-4 quarters) = Low Intermediate
3-4 semesters (4-5 quarters) = Intermediate
4-5 semesters (5-6 quarters) = High Intermediate
5-6 semesters (6-7 quarters) = Advanced
6-7 semesters (7-8 quarters) = High Advanced
7+ semesters (9+ quarters) = Superior
