David Puente joined the ISA Granada staff early in 2003. He received his Ph. D. in English and Comparative Literature from the University of California at Irvine, and now holds a part-time teaching position at the University of Granada. A native of Minnesota, David has lived in several different parts of the United States and visited over 25 countries, but Spain is his hands-down favorite, for reasons he is eager to share with ISA students. Having first become a Hispanophile during summer stays in Santiago de Compostela and Santander, he married a Spaniard and moved to Granada, which he considers one of the world's most beautiful cities. When not busy "going native", he enjoys writing English-language accounts of his travels in Spain, as well as playing basketball and guitar, al estilo americano.
