A short drive across the French boarder from San Sebastian, Biarritz was settled by the Vikings in the 800's. Later it became an important vacation spot for royalty from around Europe. Today Biarritz is a Mecca for surfers from around the world. If the breathtaking beaches don't draw you in the Asian Art Museum, Museum of the Sea and the Russian Orthodox Church are worthwhile attractions in this jewel on the French Basque Coast.
