ISA Study Center with Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo-SevillaAcademic Year 5 2017-2018 (Mid Sep, 2017 to Early May, 2018)
Catalog Code: ISVY1217
The Academic Year 5 program is designed to enhance student acquisition of teaching skills while immersing themselves in the local culture. Students will have the ability to take education courses as well as courses ranging from history to business to sciences to all levels of the Spanish language.
In addition to taking a full amount of classes per both semesters, students will integrate themselves in the local community through an internship teaching English as a foreign language at a local school (hours may vary per semester).
*Students are responsible for transportation to and from the local school.
Courses are taught by host university faculty at the ISA Study Center and are taken with other ISA students and international students.
This program is divided into two sections by semester: the first semester focuses on theoretical aspects of the classroom and the second semester targets student integration in the Sevillan community.
Alongside their internship and coursework, students will attend regular round-table group sessions with their peers and professors to enhance their experience in the classroom. Students will have the logistical support from an assigned professor to assist them during the year.
Advanced level Spanish speakers may choose to add on a Two-Week Intensive Spanish Language course (45 hours of advanced-level Spanish language instruction) for an additional fee. Students must have completed at least 4 semesters, 6 quarters, or the equivalent of college-level Spanish prior to enrolling. Please note that adding this course will alter your program dates and require you to arrive earlier to Spain. For more information, clickhere.
Please note that a student visa is required for programs over 90 days. Please reference the Student Visa & Embassy page for more information.
