Students may choose between the following Program Terms:
This program offers courses at the Pablo de Olavide University, which is located about 5 miles outside of the city center. There are a variety of courses taught in both Spanish and English, and the subjects vary from history and political science to business and biology. Beginning, intermediate and advanced level Spanish language courses are also available. All classes are with American and other international students. Students with an adequate language level may participate in up to two classes with Spanish students by means of the Program for Integration with the University (PIU). The ISA Hispanic Studies, Business & Spanish Language program is perfect for the student who enjoys a traditional university atmosphere, yet wants regular interaction with Spanish students.
Advanced level students may enroll in content courses taught in Spanish with international students. Additionally, students who score significantly high on the placement exam but are only a few points away from placing into the advanced level may be eligible to enroll in content courses taught at the advanced level, per the discretion of the UPO. It is important to keep in mind that these courses are taught at the advanced language level, and students are fully responsible for their course selections. Students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of two college-level Spanish courses to be eligible for intermediate Spanish language courses. Students must have completed or tested out of a minimum of four college-level Spanish courses to be eligible for advanced Spanish language courses. There is no language prerequisite for beginning Spanish language courses nor courses that are taught in English.

This program offers a wide range of courses in liberal arts, geography and history. All classes are with American and other international students. Those students who would like a grammar review prior to the regular program start may enroll in the Semester/Year program which includes a 2-week Intensive Spanish Language course at the Menéndez Pelayo International University prior to the regular program start at the University of Sevilla.

This program accommodates students of all levels of Spanish proficiency. The curriculum includes courses in grammar, communicative skills and Spanish culture, as well as business and economics courses in English. Students will be taking courses primarily with ISA students.
For beginning, intermediate, and advanced-level Spanish speakers. All students must take a Spanish language placement exam upon arrival in Sevilla. The exam will indicate each student's language proficiency level, and will determine the courses in which the student is eligible to enroll. Students who arrive in Spain having completed less than one year of college-level Spanish will likely place into beginning level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed one full year of college-level Spanish will likely place into the intermediate level courses. Students who arrive in Spain having completed two years of college-level Spanish will likely place into advanced level courses.

Students are required to enroll in the Second Language Acquisition: Theory and Practice course and participate in an academic internship at a local school teaching English as a foreign language for two hours a week. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the local school.
In addition to the Education courses, students may choose from the courses offered from ISA's International Studies, Business & Spanish Language semester/year program.
Students who have not completed a college semester/quarter or the equivalent must choose language as one of their courses.
All students take a placement exam upon arrival to determine their Spanish language proficiency level. Exam results may determine eligibility for course enrollment.
Spring 5A, Fall 5A, and Academic Year 5A programs include an intensive Spanish language course at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo prior to the regular program for advanced level students (45 additional hours of instruction).
Academic Year Students:
For the fall semester, students are required to enroll in the Second Language Acquisition: Theory and Practice course and participate in an academic internship at a local school for two hours a week. Students are responsible for transportation to and from the local school.
For the spring semester, students are required to enroll in the Multiculturalism and Education course in addition to an internship for up to 20 hours a week in a local school.
A National Visa is required for programs that are 91 days or longer.
Courses are held at the UIMP satellite campus and are taught by host university faculty. Classmates are international students, the majority of whom are ISA students.
