    Syllabus

    PURPOSE
    This module will prepare students to understand and apply micro-economic principles and analysis to the environment and natural resources.

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    Demonstrate ability to apply cost benefit analysis to changes affecting the environment.
    Show knowledge of the approach to valuation of environmental changes.
    Show insight into the economic ethics underlying the comparison of environmental options.
    CORE CONTENT

    Introduction to environmental economics.
    Ethics and the environment.
    Cost-benefit analysis ? theory and practice.
    Sustainability in terms of renewable and non-renewable resources.
    Using economic instruments to intervene.

    Evaluation criteria

    This module will be assessed during the semester with tests and assignments and an examination in November.
