Students will take three course components. Each course component will be evaluated separately and participants will receive a separate grade for each component on their transcript. Please note- course components may change term-to-term.
Course 2-4 is designed for students who are more advanced than students in course 2-3. It will cover lessons 16-25 in the textbook. Students will learn more than 600 new vocabulary words during the semester and continue to improve all other elements of Chinese language.
This course is a continuation of the 2-3 Spoken Chinese course. We will begin from lesson 8 and advance students to lesson 18. After completion of this course, students will achieve an advanced level of Spoken Chinese.
This course is a continuation of course 2-3: Contemporary Reading. Materials will be more difficult than in 2-3. Readings will be assigned based on the instructor, and will include: news reports and articles about modern society.
Eligibility for courses may be subject to a placement exam and/or pre-requisites.
Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
