    Course Outline
    The course is designed to provide students with the conceptual foundation necessary to develop health promotion programs and interventions. The course will introduce information on both theory and practice.

    Course Objective
    At the completion of the course, students will be able to:
    1. Define the concepts of health, health promotion, and prevention
    2. Identify key public health problems in the community
    3. Describe the methods and tools used for assessment of health and health behaviors
    4. Explain why different levels of health promotion interventions should be planned using theoretical frameworks
    5. Describe the variety of settings in which health promotion and preventive services exist
