    Course Description

    This course will help you develop the skills and knowledge required to protect and build a brand in a computer mediated environment in the context of the fashion and textiles industry.  You will also identify strategies to assist you in bringing dying brands back to life and measuring brand performance using a brand sweep of digital platforms. In addition, you will develop the ability to reflect and think critically, to identify branding problems and to develop strategies to address them.

    If you are enrolled in AD013 Associate Degree in Fashion and Textiles Merchandising, this course includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.

     

    Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

    In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:

    Apply initiative and judgement in planning, problem solving and decision making in your study

    Demonstrate critical thinking and innovation when identifying and responding to problems in diverse context within the fashion and textiles industry

    Work with others in a range of roles and context, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness.

     

    Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

    Identify the elements and principles of brand management

    Investigate and analyse brand management strategies

    Reflect critically to identify problems in relation to brands

    Develop and communicate an online branding strategy.

    You will be engaged in learning that involves a range of activities both face to face and online such as lectures, tutorials, group and class discussion, group activities and individual research.

    You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes and on your development against the program clearning outcomes.

    Assessment may include tests, case studies and assignments. Feedback will be given on all assessment tasks.
