OverviewThe syllabus covers core issues surrounding managing people at work. In so doing, the module starts with a consideration of key labour market issues in Ireland and how these affect the nature of HRM in organisations. Arising from a labour market analysis, core HR activities are next explored including
the processes of human resource planning, recruitment and selection. The module next examines critical elements of managing and rewarding performance, designing jobs and developing people at work. The nature of work is set down and finally, the regulatory environment for HRM in Ireland is indicated.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits are converted to semester credits/quarter units differently among U.S. universities. Students should confirm the conversion scale used at their home university when determining credit transfer.
