COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course will provide a grounding in critical analysis of 'genre' in English Literature, examining the specificities and characteristics that are associated with various genres of literature. Students will become familiar with the terminology used in literary analysis, and will be able to apply these terms in their own analysis of a literary text.COURSE CONTENT
In this course, students are trained in literary analysis. The course familiarizes students with the analytical tools used in close reading literary texts from different historical periods and genres, including novels, poetry, short stories, and drama.TEACHING METHODS
