OverviewAustralian Society and Culture combines literary and cultural studies, political analysis and history. It provides a context through which students can acquire knowledge about Australian institutions and traditions, particularly since 1901.Learning OutcomesUpon completion of this unit, students will:1. demonstrate knowledge of change over time in contemporary Australia2. express articulate informed opinions on contemporary Australian society and culture3. apply historiographical methodologies to the resolution of problems and research questions4. appreciate the influences shaping society and culture in Australia5. acquire an enhanced understanding of the values of other cultures

Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
