OverviewIn this subject students explore and critically reflect upon their own communication as well as communication in the world around them. They also begin to examine social work communication. The subject is underpinned by an ecological-developmental conceptual framework. Communication between individuals and within and with couples, families, groups, organisations and communities is addressed. Students are experientially introduced to beginning interpersonal communication skills. They are also encouraged to experiment with and reflect upon a range of creative forms of communication and multimedia. Communication within contexts of diversity, along with the ethics of communication are emphasised throughout the subject.

Credits earned vary according to the policies of the students' home institutions. According to ISA policy and possible visa requirements, students must maintain full-time enrollment status, as determined by their home institutions, for the duration of the program.
