  • Overview

    MG206 is an in-depth survey of the principles of marketing. It is based on an understanding of the importance of marketing towards success of any business endeavour. Students will receive a working understanding of the concepts and procedures of marketing in the current environment and its inter-relationship with other business functions. This course will help students understand and appreciate the importance of the separate marketing functions, the management of these functions, and how each function affects other functions within the marketing domain. The major functions are marketing management, marketing research, product planning, distribution channels, pricing and promotion. The course will emphasize consumer markets over business markets.
    Learning Outcomes
    - Explain the theoretical basis of various market forces across the Pacific Region
    - Examine the importance of a professional Integrated Marketing Communications program to assure synergy among various communication tools
    - Analyze the how key marketing elements and relevant external factors impact the success in PIC domestic markets
    - Construct a creative Business Marketing Plan to better position a new products/service in the Pacific Region
    - Justify an effective Business Marketing plan using learnt marketing skills individually and in groups
