Housing Information

ISA Housing in Buenos Aires provides students with the opportunity to enjoy a truly memorable experience by living in an Argentine home with a local family or in a residencia with other international students from all over the world! All home stays are located in middle to upper class neighborhoods and offer glimpses of everyday life with easy access to your university and to city amenities. The experience of living in another culture will be both educational and rewarding. You just have to remember to stay open-minded and flexible at all times. You will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a new culture and place as a local would, so take advantage and let yourself truly become a "Porteño"!!

Also it is important to note that reliable internet access is not common in Argentina, thus homestays or residencias will not necessarily be equipped with the same standard of internet that students are accustomed to in the U.S. ISA provides internet access at the ISA office, as well as the host universities.

Room and partial board, which consists of breakfast and dinner with your host family, is included in the program price as well as laundry service once a week. Each family has been carefully selected by ISA's resident staff in order to ensure a comfortable living situation. The homestay provides the opportunity for students to experience aspects of the Argentine lifestyle that are inaccessible to the average tourist. This also offers an invaluable opportunity to experience the local language.

It is important to note that due to the dynamic and culture of the city, most homestays consist of a single, older lady or an older couple. Although a few nuclear families are available, ISA cannot guarantee any specific type of homestay for students.

Students in certain programs may also elect to live in a residencia for an extra cost. All students that choose to live in the residencia are placed in double rooms, and may be placed with other international roommates that are not part of the ISA program. Breakfast is served Monday through Friday in the residencias, and students have access to the kitchen during both the week and weekend. Please contact ISA for more information on the residencia option and to request a residencia contract.

You may opt to secure housing independently. If you select this option, you will receive a discount equal to the housing portion of the program price. By choosing to opt out of ISA housing, you are solely responsible for researching and reserving housing, and paying all fees, deposits, and rent directly to the housing facility that you choose.
