Byron Bay + Bridging Cultures Program

The Bridging Cultures Program (BCP) encompasses the ISA on-site orientation delivered to all students at the onset of their ISA program, along with exciting activities aimed to introduce students to their new host country. The BCP brings together ISA students from various programs throughout the region to Byron Bay, where key emphasis is placed on areas related to goal setting, intercultural awareness, diversity and professional development. The Bridging Cultures Program serves as a great opportunity to meet other students who will be abroad the same semester, while experiencing an unique destination and gaining valuable information.

Day 1
-Arrive to Brisbane, depart for Byron Bay
-Orientation Session 1

Day 2
-Orientation Session 2
-Aboriginal Culture in Australia Ceremony
-Surf Lesson
-Visit the famous Byron Bay Lighthouse

Day 3
-Community farming lesson
-Orientation Session 3
-Bush Tucker Walk

Day 4
-Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, pet kangaroos and hold koalas
-Leave Byron Bay for Brisbane Airport, depart to host city

The Byron Bay Bridging Cultures Program is included in the program fee for all semester and year abroad programs. Some meals and activities may have additional costs.

*The Bridging Cultures Program itinerary is subject to change and, in some rare cases, ISA may choose not to hold it in Byron Bay due to weather or logistics.
