New York Film Academy Australia
The New York Film Academy was established in 1992 with the vision of teaching film in a "learning by doing" mindset. Founder and veteran producer, Jerry Sherlock, integrated this philosophy into each aspect of the Academy's curriculum, blending traditional film school education with hands-on experiences including writing, producing and editing of original films.
In 2013, New York Film Academy Australia opened its doors. It's Gold Coast campus is home to a two-level, state of the art facility located in Southport, and is in the perfect location for filmmaking with the beautiful Broadwater waterfront promenade and numerous parkland areas nearby. NYFA Gold Coast students have access to the renowned Village Roadshow Studios for production work during their program. This unique opportunity allows for students to study on the backlot of a working international film studio which has been the location for many Hollywood films including, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Shallows and several more.
The New York Film Academy is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
