The Spanish Language & Latin American Studies program is designed for students at all levels of Spanish proficiency. All courses are taught at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso by local university professors. ISA participants take classes alongside other international students.

What is the difference between the A and B programs?

  • The A program includes a month-long intensive Spanish program. Spring students who choose this option will enroll in two 45 contact hour Spanish courses.
  • The B program does not include the month-long intensive Spanish program. Students will be taking normally scheduled semester long courses.
Program Highlights:
  • Urban style campus right across from the ISA Valparaíso office.
  • High intermediate, advanced and higher level Spanish speakers, are able to enroll in elective courses with locals.
  • Various English courses available.

Semester + Semester Programs Available: Students may participate in the Spring + Fall OR the Fall + Spring sessions of this program by selecting their two semesters of interest when submitting the initial ISA online application. Mission Work

ISA's Veritas Christian Study Abroad division adds ministry service opportunities and spiritual support to existing ISA programs. Students interested in participating in missions while studying abroad must apply to a Veritas program (Visit to view program options). Veritas programs promote spiritual growth through the on-site support of a Mission Mentor as well as engaging academic and mission experiences.
