Nanjing is one of China's ancient capitals and a historically important city. In addition to its historic significance, Nanjing has also seen incredibly fast economic growth, and is one of the most important business cities in China.

Participants visiting Nanjing will be able to learn about all periods of Chinese history, as Nanjing has been a central figure throughout all of the dynasties. Participants visit the old Nanjing city wall and site of the Confucius Temple to learn about ancient China. Of course, the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall is a necessary visit for anyone wishing to understand the complex relationship between China and Japan, as the event continues to impact politics in East Asia even today. Another important site for students to visit is the Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who is considered the father of modern China.
